A disgrace! A city official, “threw” the homeless in the cold…

It’s not enough that the Municipality of Athens.Καμμίνη is one of the dirtiest of Europe has neither the minimum sensitivities for you to serve frozen these days the homeless…
and those who had the misfortune to not be privileged, so an employee of the Municipality kicked out the homeless because it had expired right now.
One of the coldest nights of the winter. At the time, even in the centre of Athens it was snowing and in social media was everywhere, the number you need to call someone to help the homeless so don’t ξεπαγιάσουν in the cold, a citizen wanted to do the obvious: to help a fellow human being. But he found it – literally – closed the door of the municipality of Athens!
Once again the last few days, the municipality of Athens seemed to lower the expectations of the citizens. He closed the door to a homeless guy, a man who was in need. Why? Because an employee called and said a disease, the other one was tired and no one thought (or wanted) to summon a replacement to keep open the space of hospitality for the homeless in Panormos and to find warmth those who are not fortunate enough to have a roof over their head.
Disciplinary investigation the employee who leave the homeless in the cold, launched by the municipality of Athens
The complaint was from a citizen who wanted to help the homeless. The recorded video and posted it on his page in Facebook. He saw the homeless man sleeping next to his house. And immediately called in the municipality to learn what a centre of hospitality can be addressed. The referrer in Panormos. When he said to the homeless guy, he answered that they’re kicking him out. Called three times to be sure. And I was assured by the city that everything was “working perfectly”.
He tried again to persuade the homeless. “Trust me, it’s all right there,” he promised. The lift and from the city of athens took him in Panormos. Arrived at 22:30 on Monday night (09.01.2017) and while the snow has continued to fall in Athens. And when they arrived there, they met a person all over the analgesia of the state mechanism.
The clerk advised that the hospitality center will close at 23:00. Half an hour later. And the obvious question “why” the answer was “I just took the next shift and said he was sick and would not come”. And also a reasonable question, “you would drive the world into the snow” the exasperating reply was: “Yes, I have to go.” And in the (third) reasonable questions of the citizen “can’t come to another”, the clerk answered in the same infuriatingly: “how should I know? I am from 15:00 here I’m tired I have to go”.
Read the post of the citizen for the incident:
Spaces of Hospitality for the Homeless – my experience tonight
– A homeless man sleeps on the street next to my house.
– It’s starting to snow in the centre of Athens.
– Call the Municipality for the accommodation Centres.
– They tell me to go in the Area of Panormos.
– The homeless guy refuses and tells me that they’re kicking him out.
– Call back 3 more times to confirm.
– I confirm that there is no problem and everything is working flawlessly.
– I say to the homeless “trust me, it’s all right there.”
The lift in the cold to go from the city of athens in Panormos.
– Arrive 22:30.
– The clerk of the Municipality tells me “23:00 we will close”
– I said, “Why?”
– “I just took the next shift and said he was sick and not coming”
– “And what? I’ll kick the world in the snow like that?”
– Me says, “Yes, I have to go”
– “Well can’t you have somebody else in his place?”
– He says, “how should I know? I’m from 15:00 here I’m tired I have to go”
– They took the homeless out in the snow.
Good all the efforts of the municipality for the homeless, but unfortunately gentlemen/s of the Municipality of you should already know that in this country.
The devil is in the details.
