A cavelogist for the lakes in Kephisus: “Water has dug concretes, all the underground rivers of Attica are colanders”

Intense is the concern about the stagnation in the after news discovered three, by the members of the Geomythic group. About the lakes discovered in Kifisos, the cavelogist and member of the Geomythiki group, George Kafantaris, spoke to ANT1 and pointed out that: “The water has dug the concretes, it now goes under the cement. The water needs to be pumped to see the damage. As time goes by, it’ll get worse. At some point there will be a serious problem.” CORVERSE George Kafantaris, speaking on the subject and Alpha, said that “all the underground rivers of Attica are “souraries”! He specifically said that “I will tell you my appreciation without being an engineer. We’ve seen almost all the rivers in Attica, it’s known the situation in Kifissos has too many problems. From the beginning this work should not have been done. He has problems planning him, there’s no access from anywhere. If—not bad—something will happen—no one will be able to enter to search.” And he concluded that “in all the underground rivers of Attica there are holes, they are “sourries” from sewage pipes.” CORVERSE Where are the three lakes? The first of the lakes was discovered by members of the same group, in January 2023. It was found at the height of the footbridge of Perissos and Vikela Street in Patisia, immediately after Kifissos’ underground contribution with Podoniftis. In July 2023, the second lake was located under Kifisos at the height of Athens Avenue after entering the area of Reddi and after walking 3.5 km below the National Road. The third and largest lake in the Kifisos bed is at the meeting point with the stream of Eshatia and is the one that causes the greatest concern. This lake was formed as at this point the bed was destroyed and appears to have up to fish. Please note that last August the Region of Attica signed a 1.2m-euro contract with a contractor to remove garbage and enter the closed Kifisos bed. It is estimated that the workshop removed about 12,500 tons of bearable materials, as according to the District, the underground bed had not been cleaned since 2002. It is also estimated that several illegal sewerage connections of tributary businesses end up in the underground part of Kifisso.
