Fire in Istanbul: At least 15 killed by explosion in a building

At least 15 people died from breaking out at a club on Tuesday today (02.04.24). As the Turkish media broadcast, the fire broke out on the ground floor of a 16-story building in Besiktas Gairetepe in Istanbul, where a nightclub was housed. According to the Istanbul administration’s announcement, the fire is believed to have been caused during renovation work. According to testimonies, the explosion occurred near the nightclub scene and the 23 people, workers working at that time, were trapped inside the nightclub. As the Turkish media broadcast, 11 people were injured since the explosion, seven of whom were seriously injured. The nightclub was closed due to the shrine to the Muslim month of Ramadan.
