75 years since the Battle of Crete – Event of honor and remembrance in the Municipality of Malevizi

Friday 20 May 2016 at 7.30 pm.m., in the hall of the senior center Gazi, on the road Eleftherios Venizelos 171 in Gázi.
In the event you talk to the historian and writer mr George Kalogerakis, a Director of the Municipal School of Kastelli Pediados and under. Dr. of the University of ioannina, Ioannina, greece, on the topic of the speech: “1941 – 2016, 75 years since the Battle of Crete”.
During the event, will be screened:
– Unknown photo file from the aircraft carrier HMS HUNTER D. 80, which was found on a mission in October 1944, the Cretan sea, when συμπτύσσονταν the Germans in Chania.
– Unknown photographic archive of the German petty officer Rolf Marcus who served in Crete in the years of the occupation. The photos depict the everyday life in the hinterland of Crete.
It will be also presented six objects:
1) The cryptographic envelope of Patrick Leigh Fermor (1943).
2) Message spy written on sheepskin hare (1942).
3) The diary of the prisoner to a work camp at Lamsdorf Emmanuel Ζηδιανάκη.
4) German proclamation of June 1941.
5) Letter of Emmanuel Ψαράκη to the prisoner in a labour camp brother Αριστόδημο.
6) The ‘Summary: in Crete situation of the Committee on the Liberation Struggle Over Greece and Western Crete, in the Will Greek Government to Κάιρον” (1943).
