73-Year-Old Man Arrested for Intentional Arson in Boeotia

A 73-year-old man was arrested on Saturday (07/06/2025) for committing arson in two separate locations. Specifically, the man is accused of intentional arson after setting fires in an agricultural area and a forested region in Boeotia. In addition to facing criminal charges, he was also fined administratively. According to a statement from the Fire Service, “Today, as part of the immediate investigation process, officers from the Department for Combating Arson Crimes (D.A.E.E.), in collaboration with investigative staff from the Livadeia Fire Department, arrested a local man for intentional arson when he set fires at two independent sites—one in an agricultural area and the second within a forested area—violating existing legislation in Boeotia. An administrative fine of €1,171.875 was imposed on him.”
