70-Year-Old Convicted of Systematically Abusing a 29-Year-Old Woman with Disabilities

A harrowing story has emerged from Greece, where a 70-year-old man was convicted for systematically abusing a 29-year-old woman with disabilities over the course of a month. The victim eventually found the courage to confide in her mother about the abuse she endured at the hands of someone she trusted completely—a man who had infiltrated their daily lives. Following the disclosure, an official complaint was filed with the police, leading to the perpetrator standing trial. Although sentenced to seven years in prison, he is currently free on suspension. In an interview with STAR, the victim’s mother expressed her dissatisfaction with the verdict, emphasizing the deep emotional scars left on her daughter, who now struggles with severe trust issues. She recounted how changes in her daughter’s behavior—such as refusing food and isolating herself in her room—raised alarm bells. Despite repeated questioning, the victim remained silent due to threats made by the abuser, who warned her against speaking up. Eventually, after persistent encouragement from her mother, the young woman revealed the horrifying ordeal she endured. The mother described the abuser as monstrous and stressed that true justice would only be served if he were imprisoned and held accountable for his actions.
