5.8 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Rhodes: 14-Year-Old Girl Dies, 69 Injured in Turkey

A 14-year-old girl tragically lost her life, and another 69 people were injured due to a 5.8-magnitude earthquake that struck near the open waters between Turkey and Greece. The quake, with an epicenter depth of 68 kilometers, occurred close to the town of Marmaris (historically known as Marmaressos or Physkos in ancient Greek), according to Turkey’s Interior Minister. The teenager was rushed to the hospital after suffering from a panic attack but unfortunately passed away despite medical efforts. Most of the other victims jumped from heights due to panic caused by the strong seismic shock, as explained by the minister.
