5.3 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Mount Athos

A 5.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded at noon on Saturday (7.6.25). According to the Geodynamic Institute, the earthquake had its epicenter 7 kilometers west-northwest of Karyes in Mount Athos with a focal depth of 5 kilometers. A few minutes later, an aftershock measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale occurred, centered near Ouranoupoli.
