A strong earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale shook both Kas and Crete early Tuesday morning (24.06.2025). The earthquake, with its epicenter located in the sea area 30 km southwest of Kas, occurred a few minutes after 7:00 AM. According to the revised solution from the Institute of Geodynamics, the focal depth was calculated at 6.2 km. So far, no damages have been reported either in Kas or Crete.
