A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck at 05:17 local time on Monday, May 12, 2025, off the coast of Crete. According to the Institute of Geodynamics at the National Observatory of Athens, the epicenter was located in the sea area 106 km west-southwest of Falasarna, Crete. The hypocentral depth of the earthquake was recorded at 7.4 kilometers, and it occurred 328 km south-southwest of Athens. No immediate reports of damage or injuries have been reported.
