The best possible outcome was revealed during the bronchoscopy performed on little Angel, who is being treated at the RIO Children’s Hospital after inhaling smoke from a house fire in Kefalonia. The fire broke out on Tuesday (22.04.2025) in a home located in the Agiou Eleftheriou area of Argostoli, on Eleftheriou Venizelou Street. The 3-year-old, who has respiratory issues, was preemptively transferred to the hospital due to smoke inhalation. The bronchoscopy procedure was completed shortly after midnight on Thursday, and the doctor overseeing the child, along with their team, found that the damage to his lungs was minimal. The medical staff thoroughly examined his organs to confirm that the care provided over the past few days had successfully removed the soot he had inhaled. According to apohxos.gr, it was also observed that the toxic carbon monoxide poisoning the child had suffered from had significantly diminished. All signs indicate that Angel will recover soon and won’t have to wait long before returning to his family’s embrace.
