25-year-old Nikos Androulakis in Kostas Simitis’ last speech in Heraklion in 2004

The calendar showed 15 January 2004 and is the last speech made by the then Prime Minister, in Heraklion. So 21 years ago, in Lindo’s closed gym, Kostas Simitis spoke for the last time in Heraklion, and Nikos Androuliakis is among the fans of PASOK on the stands. CORVERSE Many Heracliotes welcomed the then Prime Minister with the slogan “Bravo Simitis tells you all Crete!”. Among them is the current president of PASOK. The then 25-year-old, Nikos Androulakis was a member of the Central Youth Council, one of the most dynamic executives of his generation and found himself in Heraklion, although it was not his permanent residence, to attend the speech of the former Prime Minister. CORVERSE Next to the president of PASOK is Kostas Vardavas (then second secretary of PASOK Heraklion Youth) and the late Kostas Triantafyllakis (secretor of PASP at the TEI Heraklion). It is recalled that Costas Simitis was not a prime minister again, since he essentially gave the “ring” of the succession to George Papandreou.
