Delays and route modifications for trains and suburban rail services have been announced for today (June 17, 2025), by the Panhellenic Union of Traction Personnel (P.E.P.E.), due to a 24-hour strike concerning safety measures on the railway network. To better serve passengers, it has been decided that security personnel will operate specific routes. Specifically, the following routes will be operational: Athens-Thessaloniki 50, 52, 55; Alexandroupolis-Ormenio 1680, Ormenio-Alexandroupolis 1681; Thessaloniki-Florina 1733, 1734; Thessaloniki-Serres 3632, Serres-Thessaloniki 3633; Patras-Rio various numbers; Kastro/Aghios Vasilios multiple services; Patras-Kato Achaias several routes; Kiato-Patras designated routes; Eleftherios Venizelos Airport-Athens Liosia various services; Piraeus-Eleftherios Venizelos Airport selected trips; and more regional routes. The union also announced a gathering at the courts on Evelpidwn Street at 9:30 AM to contest insurance measures against the dismissal of the President of the Body of Genidounia Kosta. For Wednesday, June 18, 2025, bus replacements will cover some train routes with certain stops omitted.
