On Saturday, July 5th, Athens will offer public transportation services for a full 24-hour period for the very first time. The Urban Transport Organization (OASA) is launching a pilot operation that includes lines 2 and 3 of the Metro, tram lines T6 and T7, as well as selected bus routes covering key points across the Attica basin.
This trial initiative, announced by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport on Wednesday (02.07.2025), aims to enhance the overall commuting experience in the city by offering a safe and reliable option for travelers at all hours of the day. It also represents an important step toward upgrading urban transport services and promoting Athens on a broader scale.
The implementation of this measure was made possible thanks to the dedication and professionalism of transport workers who supported the operational demands of the 24-hour service. Following the trial, OASA officials will evaluate the performance based on both operational and qualitative data gathered during the event.
