Law enforcement officers from the Northern Greece Organized Crime Division conducted 23 arrests involving individuals linked to criminal activities. Over 40 house searches were carried out, dismantling three criminal organizations—one in Thessaloniki and two in Serres—all involved in antiquities trafficking. Authorities seized ancient coins and artifacts that will be handed over to the relevant archaeological services for evaluation. Additionally, a sum of €50,000 was recovered. Tools used for illegal excavations near designated archaeological sites, including TNT explosives, were also confiscated. The arrested individuals are believed to have profited from selling ancient artifacts abroad.
