22-Year-Old Stabs Police Officer in Chalkidiki: Not the First Incident

A shocking knife attack occurred yesterday (09.05.2025) in Chalkidiki, where a 22-year-old stabbed and injured a 49-year-old police officer outside his home. According to a local resident speaking to Thesstoday.gr, the attack happened near the police officer’s residence, which is located in the same building as the carpentry business he runs with his brother. The 22-year-old assailant later surrendered to the authorities. ‘The 22-year-old has been involved with drugs but there was no prior conflict between them. In fact, he had waited for the officer below his house 2-3 times in the past. Yesterday, he pulled out a knife; fortunately, the officer survived. However, the incident left him anxious and fearful, especially since it took place outside his home where his family resides. He is a model family man with two children and has lived in our village for years,’ said an eyewitness. The injured officer was transferred to Polygyros Hospital with minor injuries. Charges have been filed against the 22-year-old, who surrendered to the authorities, for dangerous bodily harm and illegal possession of weapons.
