21-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies in Fiery Crash on Attiki Odos

Another tragic road accident has occurred on Attiki Odos, claiming the life of a 21-year-old motorcyclist. The incident took place near Heraklion junction, in the direction towards the airport. Under unclear circumstances, the young man’s motorcycle collided with a car, causing him to be ejected from his vehicle. His motorcycle caught fire immediately after the impact. Witnesses attempted to provide first aid to the unconscious victim lying on the road; however, despite their efforts and those of EKAB doctors who rushed to the scene, the young man succumbed to his injuries at the ‘Red Cross’ hospital. Authorities have arrested the 62-year-old car driver, who is accused of involuntary manslaughter due to negligence. Reports suggest that the curve at the crash site may have contributed significantly to the accident.
