20 Years Together for the Child – The association for the children who need our support

A hug that day by day grows having reached to help more than 30,000 children in the whole of Greece.
20 years of successful cooperation with the only purpose of the offer and the support of the pauper, sick, handicapped and socially marginalized child, and the psychosocial support of every family. A project that was recognized recently by the Academy of Athens, which honored the Union ‘Together for children’ awarding of the Silver Medal.
Increased the uninsured and needy children for the last 8 years
The crisis has not left unaffected the agency since 2009, saw their balance sheets are reduced to half, in relation to the levels of 2006. In addition to the effects from the shrinkage of the market, unemployment is the cause to lose a lot of kids their insurance covers, while at the same time increases, and the rate of the most deprived persons performing institutions of service.
At the same time, the state subsidies for 5 of the 10 clubs of the union, have been reduced to a rate of 70% from 2009 levels, while the U.S. does not systematically cover the contractual obligations to the institutions and deletes part of his debt in the context of the method of balancing of the benefits to health bodies (clawback&rebate), resulting in the inability of the implementation of the budget.
119 programs, 378 workers, 281 volunteers
The Together for the Child implements today 119 programs with the help of 378 workers and 281 volunteers, managing to produce versatile social work. The allocation of resources follows the standards of international organisations, since the operating costs do not exceed 10% of its annual budget, while 90% is devoted exclusively to the beneficiaries of the organization.
In the 20 years of operation, the “Together for children” has managed despite the difficulties brought about by the crisis to work harmoniously with the members, but also to enlarge the geographic and social footprint, by integrating the actions of the programs for even more children in need, and by launching partnerships with more than 200 bodies in the whole of Greece.

We are asking everyone to support the efforts and actions, as well as the denominator is common.
