A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Monday evening (June 3, 2025) after an intense police chase in the area of Penteli. According to ELAS (Hellenic Police), shortly before 11 PM, officers from the DIAE patrol team noticed a suspicious driver and signaled for him to stop for inspection. However, instead of stopping, the driver sped up and attempted to flee, prompting a high-speed pursuit. During the chase, specifically at the intersection of 25th March Street and Homerou Street, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to spin out. Although he did not crash, the suspect tried to escape on foot but was intercepted by police at the intersection of Platonos and Hippokratous Streets and subsequently arrested. Further investigation revealed that the driver, born in 2009, had stolen the vehicle earlier from the Penteli area and did not possess a valid driver’s license.
