A bold 14-year-old in Norway stole a public bus from a Norwegian transport company and drove it approximately 200 kilometers across the border into Sweden, Norwegian police announced on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
Stolen Bus Tracked via Satellite
The company reported the theft to police early Tuesday morning after discovering the vehicle was missing. Using satellite tracking technology, they quickly located the bus in neighboring Sweden.
Arrest in Gothenburg
Swedish police apprehended the teenager near Gothenburg in southwestern Sweden. Norwegian youth welfare officials are en route to take custody of the minor.
Motive Still Unknown
The teen’s motive remains unclear. According to Rune Isaksen, the investigating officer, the boy acted alone — stealing the bus in Vestby, about 40 kilometers south of Oslo, before completing the entire journey unassisted.
