At least 573 traffic accidents occurred solely in Attica during May. Within these incidents, 14 people lost their lives while 668 were injured, with 12 sustaining severe injuries. The primary causes of the accidents in Attica were reckless driving, disregard for road signs, and pedestrians violating traffic rules. Not wearing protective helmets by motorcyclists and passengers worsened injury severity in many cases. During the same period, as part of targeted actions by the Attica Traffic Department to enhance road safety, 39,272 violations were confirmed, including 1,034 serious offenses. Notably, there were 1,054 violations for drunk driving (64 of which were severe), 3,225 speeding violations, 344 red-light violations, 566 mobile phone use violations, 1,377 seatbelt non-use violations, 4,108 helmet non-use violations, and 114 dangerous maneuvering violations.
