In a major police operation conducted early Thursday morning (05.06.2025) in the settlement of Acharnes, 14 arrests were made for electricity theft and various K.O.K violations. The operation was planned and executed by the Western Attica Police Department, with participation from the Pursuit and Investigation of Crimes Department, the O.P.K.E., the D.I.A.S team, the Attica Police Operations Department, the O.E.P.T.A., police dogs, and an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone). According to ELAS, the goal of this extensive operation was to prevent and address all forms of illegal activity recorded in the area. In total, 14 individuals were arrested, facing charges that include electricity theft, driving without a valid license, and confirmed K.O.K violations such as driving license suspension, not wearing helmets or seat belts, among others. Additionally, five house searches were conducted, during which an escape tunnel was discovered in one residence. Furthermore, in collaboration with the DEDEE, 40 wire connections used for electricity theft were disconnected. All arrested individuals have been handed over to the relevant prosecuting authority.
