ΚΕΑΤ: “40 years of the revolt of the blind”,

With great success was held in ΚΕΑΤ, the event “40 years of the… uprising of the blind”, on Wednesday 18 May. The courtyard of the Centre proved to be ideal to accommodate the crowd that gathered to honor the important match of the blind and watched the historical documentary of Mary Hatzimichalis Παπαλιού, for the first time with audio description (AD) and (SDH) subtitles for the deaf/s by the Movement of Artists with disabilities.
The event welcomed and sent messages, the members of the Steering Committee of the Race: the Minister of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction, mr. Panagiotis Κουρουμπλής, the General Secretary of the National Federation of the Blind, ca. Friday Τζαβαλιά, the President of the Panhellenic Association of the Blind, mr. Elias Μαργιόλας, the President of the ΕΣΑμεΑ mr Ioannis Vardakastanis and the State of the United Trade union Movement, mr Harris Chourdakis. It also welcomed the Director – activist with a disability, a representative of the Movement of Artists with Disabilities, mr. Antonis Ρέλλας, and the Director of the Documentary, miss. Mary Hatzimichalis – Παπαλιού.
Honorary plaques were awarded by the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Security and Social Solidarity, mrs. Theano Fotiou, the Hellenic Association of the Blind, for his decisive contribution to the struggle of the blind, and the director miss. Παπαλιού, by the Minister of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction, mr. Panagiotis Κουρουμπλή and the Movement of Artists with Disabilities, for the excellent depiction of the events, a legacy that will remain forever be reminded of the important achievements of the blind for empowerment, self-management and autonomy…
