Γαβρόγλου: the Aim of the reform of the high school

With an emphasis on consensus, closed the today meeting of the Committee for Cultural Affairs of the Parliament, the minister of Education, Research and church affairs…
Kostas Γαβρόγλου, stressing that the issue of the debate is not so much a change in the way of input in higher education, but the reform of the high school. “The consensus is built is not given. And means of agreements and disagreements”, the minister said, pointing to the general acceptance of the proposal of the PSE, from the speakers that were placed today, Wednesday.
Moreover, with the hearing of the former secretaries-general of the ministry of Education, the former president of the INSTITUTE and the representatives from the conference of rectors and presidents summit, we completed the listening phase of the bodies to the Commission.
In general, the presentations of the speakers were moved on the same wavelength about the current system of entrance to higher education. “It is extremely problematic to the national,” the minister said summing up the positions of the speakers, stressing that a system is “obviously integrity”, however, “the challenge is to find and reliable”.
However, the minister, and the secretary-general of the ministry of John Παντής, mentioned that we should have universities in the people getting in them. The position argued earlier, the rector of the NTUA Yannis Golias, asking for a deeper involvement of universities in the process of student selection, based on some minimum criteria, such as a minimum allowable score threshold, which will vary from department to department. Something which she found pact, and the former secretary-general of the ministry of Education Claus Κουλαϊδή, who added that with the publication of the criteria of the sections, it will break the absolute uniformity.
John Golias, however, in his contribution went a step further, suggesting that it should be determined per section and the number of imported and the number that is determined, and the government grant.
In favour of the conversion of the National Agency for Examinations to an independent authority, as it was originally designed, and supported George Μπαμπινιώτης, who in his contribution made an overall review of the changes that have been introduced lately. “To be an independent authority, which will do the exam and for intra-school examinations, where appropriate and for the National. A principle, which gives the opportunity to a candidate to retake a class to improve the grade, without waiting a year. This would have meant a more humane, fairer and more effective system,” said George Μπαμπινιώτης.
On the same wavelength, was the former secretary-general of the ministry of Thanasis Kyriazis: “THE REA was to take the exam at the ministry. If we can’t do it, to abolish it. Paralyzes the whole ministry when exams take place,” he said.
With regard to the proposals of the INSTITUTE for the high school, the George Μπαμπινιώτης, though said agree with the rationale, disagreed with the “high school – a tutorial”. “From the A to the C grade, you will be provided a general education with a choice,” he said and adding that to ξαναστηθεί high school should be counted to the extent of the introduction of the higher, as long as he is “objectively δωσμένος”. “That’s the only way the children will calculate the courses and the teacher and the degree of”, rated.
On the other hand, the Claus Κουλαϊδής argued in favour of a first-year general education, which will be followed by the two classes will have orientation classes, but always with the teaching of a core of courses in general education. However, none of the speakers today did not vote in favour of the four-year high school and two-year-old high school.
As to the issue of mobility of students in the departments during the first year of study, C. Μπαμπινιώτης estimated that today, practically cannot be done, the integration into schools, and then to decide the students of the department. THE TH. Kyriazis by the side of, in favour of the introduction in schools and not in sections, while the C. Golias pointed out that you need to find a way to there is the possibility of some mobility.
Finally, it is noted that the next phase of the debate on the reform of the high school and the introduction in higher education, as proposed by the minister, provides for the preparation of a report, which will include coded all of the proposals that have been tabled in the last three meetings of the committee.
The report will be made available to the participants in the dialogue, with a view to the final composition, which will be sent to the parties. Based on this report, the ministry will bring its own proposal to the Commission, in order to proceed with the legislative process.
